I used to go here to get a hair cut years ago when I lived in downtown, I just went back toady and had my hair cut by Jacob. OMG, he’s amazing. I have very long hair and he cut & styled it beautifully. I hardly gave any instructions, he just naturally knew what to do. Worth every penny!

I recently had highlights and purchased some products = ~$160.
I had a cut the other day, and after tip = $90.
Yeah, prices are high, but I have yet to find an equivalent hair salon around SJ.

I have been going to Umbrella for over five years. It’s not just my hair cut’s end result that keeps me coming back; it’s the avant-garde decour, the statuesque stylists, and most of all, it’s the stylists’ ability to “read” exactly what I want, every time.

Jacob, in particular, is a keen listener. He’s very authentic in taking interest about what’s going on with me. He always delivers – with precision.

I sent my boyfriend there two weeks ago, a man with curly, long hair. Jacob successfully cleaned up his ‘do. My man was hesitant about going from paying $40 (old salon) to $65, but when we left, he said, “I do NOT mind coming here every 2-3 months if I’m going to get this kind of result.” I can’t keep my hands off of him now :o)

Jacob Inocencio did my hair for my wedding, as well as my bridesmaids and he was fantastic. I wasn’t sure if I wanted an up do, or down, and he worked with me at the trial and was very patient. We tried a few things, and ended up with the perfect style that was part down and swept to the side, but perfect for my photos. The hair stayed in place for the whole day, despite 1.5 hours of dancing at the end!!! On the day of, he was efficient with time, and a he was a blast despite how nervous I was!

ok, this is the first time i leave a review for anything coz i want to help others who’s been suffering with bad hair cut long enough.

I have had bad hair cuts for years. I have frizzy asian hair. I feel nobody can cut my hair well until i found this salon on yelp and gave it a shot.

My stylist was Jacob, he did such a great job that i received many many compliments on my hair, even semi-strangers. This is unbelievable! He listened to me quite well, never tried to push me to do something i don’t like. This hair cut is easy to maintain, and i completely feel it is me.

I got my hair highlighted today by Jacob and i absolutely love it! this is the first time ive ever been happy with the outcome of my highlights! I can’t express enough how much i love this place…I cant wait to come back again!!!

and btw, i sat for about a half hour waiting for the hair dye to do its thing, and as i waited, i watched all the ppl around me getting their hair done, and i have to say that everyone’s hair looked AMAZING! whether they were just getting a simple haircut w/ basic layers or a crazy short funky hairdo w/ pink highlights, or even just their bangs trimmed, their transformations were unbelievable! the hair stylists here are obviously extremely talented and I will definitely be stickin with this place for a long time! =) i’ll most likely be stayin w/ Jacob though cuz he does such a great job and has the best personality ever =P
